DESCRIPTION:I am continuously in awe of how generous and ready to step up our community is. Several of you have called and text about assisting those affected by yesterday’s storm. \nHere is an update from the Sheriff’s office who is handling volunteer and other information:\n“We are looking for additional volunteers. If you are interested\, please meet at Lanier Primary School at 8:00 a.m. April 7th. We will need help from labor to administration to organization.” \nThey will be hosting a community event tomorrow\, April 7th for citizens to ask questions regarding resources and how to avoid scams. Time to be announced. \nThe Red Cross will be setting up a shelter at Lanier Primary School tonight which will include beds\, food\, and other resources. \nHot meals are being provided at Lanier Primary\, Bryan County Elementary\, and the Shriners Club. If you would like to do meals please contact Sgt. Jennifer Fleming with the Bryan County Sheriffs office at jfleming@bryan-county.org or (912) 675-6829. \nWe have received several requests of where to make monetary donations.
