As a lifelong resident of Pooler, Rebecca Benton grew up on Benton’s Dairy-producer of Starland Dairies, graduated from The Savannah Country Day School, and the University of Georgia. Benton is an attorney and presently serves as Mayor. She received a certificate of recognition from The Georgia Training and Institute for elected officials for completing the required courses. She is presently a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Choir of Trinity United Methodist Church of Pooler, Rotary Club of Pooler/West Chatham, and the Garden Club of Pooler, Ga.
Formerly Benton has served as: President of the Rotary Club of Pooler/West Chatham, Secretary/Treasurer of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, Council Chair and Trustee of Trinity United Methodist Church of Pooler.
